This is a rare and very hard to find Complete Set of 6 FIRST EDITION Volumes from 1846 written by Henry Edward Napier (1789 – 1853). Napier was a British naval officer and historian. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 1820. His chief work was this rare set—the Florentine History from the earliest Authentic Records to the Accession of Ferdinand the Third, Grandduke of Tuscany.

The 6 volumes cover the political, social, historical, and cultural developments of Florence, as well as its economic and military history and much more. Volume 3 contains a handwritten map of some of the cities in Italy. There is also a piece of a letter dated 1897 from New York with a 2 cent stamp adhered to the envelope. It is very hard to find a complete First Edition Set such as this one.

The 6 volumes have some condition. Some have loose spines and there are bits of pieces missing to the spines, as pictured. Some of the hard covers are a bit loose. Pages have some yellowing. Overall, the pages are clean with none missing.

A rare and unique set to own.
