Vintage SEIKO 6139-6000 PROOF DIAL  NOTCHED Chronograph Automatic

Item for Sale...

An absolutely stunning Seiko 6139-6000 (6139A) Chronograph “Proof Dial”, “Proof Case Back”, “Notched Case”, “Cevert” manufactured in July 1970 as Seiko was quietly producing what could arguably be the world’s first automatic chronograph in its original Seiko E-BM26 box.

This is one of the most sought-after watches within the vintage Seiko range in near “mint” condition. With its “Notched” case above the recessed crown and “Proof” dial, collectors of these watches will know that opportunities like this rarely come up for auction in this condition.

This is one of those rare watches that epitomises elegance and sophistication and feels completely at home as a superb dress watch whilst it can equally be worn whilst driving around a formula 1 racetrack, as F1 legend Francois Cevert did in 1971 wearing this model Seiko, or, of course it can equally be used as an everyday watch.

With its super comfortable stainless-steel bracelet (I wore it myself for 3 days to test the watch) it fits easily on a 7” wrist (with spare links in box). The chronograph works perfectly without fault with the “stop” and “re-set” buttons working exactly as they should, setting to zero. The second and minute hands “crown” press for the Day/Date and the inner bezel smoothly rotates stopping exactly in the desired position.

Don't miss the chance to bid on this superb Iconic and Historic Seiko 6139-6000 Chronograph, offered in outstanding condition. You'll be delighted with your purchase.

Please examine the photos carefully as they are part of the description. The watch depicted in the photographs is precisely the watch you will receive, complete with its box.

Terms of Sale...

Payment within 24 hours via Ebay. Read Me!!! NO RETURNS...Why? - All the watches I sell are checked and in excellent working order (unless advised). Previously selling online I have had some bad experiences whereby dubious buyers have purchased watches and returned them for a refund. On inspection of the returned watches, they have been found to have movement parts removed or replaced. A simple quick fix for hard-to-find parts free of charge for dishonest buyers. So sorry, but this now means no returns.
