George III, silver Bank of England dollar, dated 1804. Regular K under shield, : C.H.K.

The Bank of England dollars were emergency issues, struck over Spanish 8 reales, with obliteration of the design. However, often traces of the undertype remain. This coin is obviously struck over an 1809 dated 8 reales, with the last three digits of the date of the undertype clearly visible. Although dated 1804, Bank of England dollars of this type were struck as late as 1811.

EF or better, hairlined, residual lustre, light toning, a few old marks, sharply struck and proof-like. Rare with clear post-1804 undertype.
