We are offering a Riverside Glass Works Covered Compote in the pattern 0003. Riverside Glass Works was located in Wellsburg, West Virginia. It was in business between 1880-1889. This compote was introduced in 1883. The compote is 11 inches tall to the top of the finial and it is 8 inches in diameter. There is a cutting on the glass of leaves forming a garland around the lid as well as the bowl. This pattern features a finial that is in the shape of a cross. It has a 6 sided tapered stem. The base is 4 3/4 inches across. At the bottom of the bowl there is a notched pattern that circles the entire bowl. This piece is considered EAPG(Early American Pattern Glass). Riverside Glass made high quality glass and the clarity of this piece shows it. There are no chips, cracks or fleabites on this piece. There are surface scratches to the inside of the bowl. A truly lovely antique piece.
