Chu Dau kiln, Vietnam, circa 1450's. Comes with certificate.

The sturdily thick potted form has a raised rim decorated in under glaze cobalt blue sea shell in the center surrounded  by a band of vines. The exterior wall decorated with lotus form lappets, raised foot rim 

and iron brown washed base with the Hoi An Hoard label, artifact #142460.

Recovered from the 1999 salvage of a wreck off the Vietnamese coast.

Minor small iron stains at the unglazed side & rim otherwise excellent condition.
