Description: A pair of Satsuma vases. Japan, late Meiji period, circa 1900. Signed on bottom. Featuring a motif with a boldly depicted eagle in a tree with golden and orange leaves. The eagle overlooking a river landscape, featuring houses and a bridge against a mountain backdrop. The bottom and top of the vases decorated in navy blue and gold. The vases are a true pair, with mirrored motives. Height: 11.8 inches/30cm. Weight: 5.7lb/2,6kg.

Condition: The vases has previously been mounted as lamps and have been drilled for electricity. The holes have since been plugged and restored. It's towards the bottom in the blue part and is a well done repair(see photo 12). Otherwise only minor age wear and in very good condition.
