You are bidding on two vintage, original, Broadway Show Playbills for Hair (1970) and Jesus Christ Superstar (1971). These were the two iconic Broadway Plays that defined an era. Following Woodstock (1969) and The Summer Of Love, these two plays back to back on Broadway epitomized the Hippie Movement of the 60's and 70's which was a subculture that changed the world by their politics, dress, drugs and attitude. Both Playbills are in excellent condition, complete with no marks, yellowing or dog ears. The Hair Playbill is Volume 7, October 1970, Issue 10 and was performed at the Biltmore Theatre at 261 West 47th Street, Theatre District, Mid-Town Manhattan, NYC. Today it is known as the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. This performance of Jesus Christ Superstar was on the Night of October 19, 1971 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre at 237 West 51st. Street, Theatre District, Mid-Town Manhattan, NYC. The theatre is no more. It has been the location for the Times Square Church House Of Worship since 1989. If you notice the seating stub attached to the program this theatre goer had pretty good seating in the Orchestra and at only $12.00 per ticket. I can only imagine what that ticket would cost in todays inflationary dollars.
