This unusual antique wooden baton which dates from c1900 has a wooden body with a red and blue striped shaft, a large wooden bulb and a brass ferrule with a solid metal tip.

This wooden baton would have been used in French parades by the drum major heading the procession. It has a military feel being very well made, is a long length at 127 cm and has a beautiful tactile feel.

This would make an unusual decorative piece.
