Jonathan Livingston Seagull: A Story by Richard Bach. Macmillan, 1971.

Stated Sixth Printing of the hardcover First Edition of this now-classic existential fantasy tale.

Laid into the book is a adhesive-backed bookplate with the typed words:

RICHARD BACH

FOR THE BOOK

under which is a line of type excised by whiteout, and the author's rather impressionistic signature in black Sharpie ink.

The bookplate is part of a lot purchased from the estate of L.A.-based book dealer and collector Horace "Hal" Kemp. Kemp accumulated a large collection of these signed plates at book-signings around the Southland in the Eighties and Nineties. According to notes from the collection, this one was obtained at an appearance Richard Bach made at Pasadena's Vroman's Bookstore on September 23, 1994.

Hard to find signed early printings of this book -- a must-own for JLS or Richard Bach fans!

Format: 6.75 x 8.75" hc w dj, Sixth Printing of First Edition, laid-in bookplate signed by author, 93pp, photos.
