Up for sale is a scarce vintage volume containing two papers on the ecology of foraminifera protists in the  Gulf of Mexico written by two highly respected researchers at the Scripps Institution (Scripps Institute) of Oceanography in La Jolla, California.  It is extensively illustrated and INCLUDES all of the original Tables that were contained in a special pocket inside the rear board.  

NOTE:  This volume is part of "The Memoir Series" of the Geological Society of America and is designated as "Memoir 46" in that series.  It actually contains two papers on closely related subjects.  Photo # 1 of this listing is the Title Page for the entire volume.  Photos # 2-3 are the Title Page and Table of Contents of Part I.  Photos # 4-5 are the Title Page and Table of Contents of Part II.  The two Parts are separately numbered.

Title of the overall Memoir:  Ecology of Foraminifera, Northwest Gulf of Mexico

Part I:  Foraminifera Distribution by Fred B. Phleger,  ix + 88 pages.  Includes 2 plates, 33 figures, and 37 illustrations.  (Illustrations # 10 - 21 and 31 - 37 are in the back pocket; these tables are printed on both sides of each page in the pocket.)

Part II:  Foraminifera Species by Fred B. Phleger and Frances L. Parker, iv + 64 pages.  Includes 20 plates, each of which has multiple photographic figures.

This hardback book measures just under 10 inches tall by about 6.125 inches wide.  It has no dust jacket.

According to the Abstract and Introduction, these studies were based on extensive reconnaissance conducted during February and March, 1947.  The foraminifera populations were analyzed from 550 bottom samples, 65 submarine cores, and 27 serial plankton tows in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico.  In addition there were 25 complete hydrographic stations and 473 bathythermograms.
