This lot of three antique postcards captures the devastating effect of the Great Flood of 1913 on the business district of Dayton, Ohio. One photograph captures the flood waters engulfing W. 3rd Street while a pair of people paddle a canoe past the drug store. The two others show the catastrophic levels of debris in front of the businesses on W. 3rd St. and N. Jefferson St. as residents started the long recovery period.

To this day, the flood of 1913 was the greatest recorded natural disaster in the Dayton area. Accounts report 476 deaths caused by the event.
