Vase Highlights:

This blue and white porcelain vase is probably from the later part of the Chinese Quing Dynasty (1644-1911) or early to the mid-20th century. It is in like new condition.

It is comprised of fine porcelain with a clear glaze over all of the artwork and chop mark on the bottom of the vase.

The outside of the vase is divided into four sections. Each section has three distinct areas (top, middle, and lower) that are contained with rectangular and curved shapes that have varying shades of blue ink and watercolor.

Top section: Each top section is of a Foo Lion with varying shades of blue ink and watercolor. He is standing with a long tail, a majestic mane, large eyes, a proud nose, and large feet with several toes. He is amongst varying shades of blue ink and watercolor lotus blossoms.

Middle section: Each middle section has four scalloped borders of dark blue ink and watercolor. (1) There is a landscape scene of an old pine tree with pine needles. Under the tree branches are three scholars, noblemen, or court officials. Each one is holding a walking stick. (2)  Beautiful blue magnolias with leaves are hanging on a branch. (3) Several blue plum blossoms hanging on a branch with leaves, and (4) Large blue chrysanthemums on tree branches with leaves.

Lower Section: A large ink and watercolor of varying shades of blue spirals, circles, leaves, and other designs repeat throughout each section of the vase.

The inner vase is a light beige or off-white porcelain with an outer clear glaze.

The bottom of the vase is a light beige or off-white porcelain. A large chop mark from the Quing Dynasty is in the center. A clear glaze rests on top.
