Ekelund Linneväveriet I Horred AB is today one of the most modern weaving mills in Europe. All products are made from natural fibers. Design and web data are created in our own design department. The Ekelund company is very concerned with environmentally friendly materials and production, which is why they are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. The GOTS criteria for eco-certification include both social and ecological aspects. Starting with cultivation, the processes are considered traceable through all stages of production, up to the finished product. A sign of trust for you as a consumer.

From organic farming to eco-certified textiles:

• Agriculture without pesticides. Organic farming does not use pesticides. The workers in the certified plantations are allowed to organize themselves in unions and receive fair wages and working conditions in accordance with the GOTS criteria
• Use of tested pigments. The yarns are dyed exclusively with dyes that have been tested by GOTS. They use reactive dyes in a process that requires less water than, for example, strand dyeing. The dyeing process is continuously monitored by the IMO Institute from Switzerland, as an independent third party.
• Ecologically certified production. The warping, weaving, post-treatment and hemming of the products takes place in the Horred factory. All processes have been certified by the GOTS organization. The yarns are of very high quality, combed, spun and twisted to create textiles that can withstand frequent washing and still look like new even after years.

Ekelund has been a Royal Court Supplier in Sweden for over a century. All Ekelund tablecloths are delivered in oversize, which takes into account shrinkage after washing. The dimensions given are the guaranteed minimum sizes after two household washes (according to the attached Ekelund care recommendation). This information refers to ironed goods.
