20-017 5-6" Tall Black Veined sibling cross clones - unique never divided. 8 available
While I proved selfing Waccamaw will produce dwarfs way back in a 2014 cross (a decade ago, sheesh!), in 2016 I partnered with Calen Hall to try and make some black veined atros. We crossed Waccamaw with one of his best improved Black veined clones. While he didn't end up sowing the seed, I did, and made about a dozen selections. Some absolutely stunning black veined atros were created, but I wasn't satisfied with them. So in 2020 I did a sibling pollination between siblings A through E and planted out the seeds hoping to select for ever darker red and even deeper veins. Truthfully, I did not find deeper darker black veined atros, but the cross between clone A and E produced dwarfs! I confirmed it was clone A and E with another series of crosses in 2022.
Today I repotted 20-017 for the first time, this cross, and counted. Out of 25 clones in the pot, 6 were dwarfs. While I need to make the cross again and confirm, it's looking like with these parents, the dwarfism is caused by a single recessive gene! Clone A and E are full size, but carry this gene.
After all that explanation, up for grabs here are some of the non-dwarf siblings from this cross between the dwarf recessive parents. There is a 66% chance (if it is a single recessive gene) that these clone carry the recessive dwarf gene, but until it flowers and you self it, you won't know for sure. Again, this clone is NOT a dwarf, but MAY carry the dwarfing gene(s) but I cannot guarantee. They came from the same seed pod that produced the black veined dwarfs.
You are purchasing one of the photographed seedlings. I will send them out in this exact order as they are purchased. Again, these are non dwarf siblings to some black veined dwarfs.

If you don't know of me, just know that my Sarracenia Flava collection is second to none. With over 700 location data clones, and another additional 7-800 adult flava (and tens of thousand of seedlings), I have an absolutely massive collection spanning over 2000sqft and multiple greenhouses. A virtual living library of flava varieties and locations. I also produce well over a thousand hand pollinated crosses a year (3000 in just the last 3 years). I do offer individual seed packets and seed blends after harvest, but first and foremost I produce all this seed for myself. Often, I will do a larger sowing and decide to only keep a few seedlings from a cross. I used to compost all the extras, but have been releasing some seedlings and seedling bundles of really exceptional crosses. I grow out hundreds of crosses a year, sometimes more, and often time replant older seed that I have stored to create more of a particular cross.
