The Carn Pottery Studio Vase, standing approximately 15cm tall, boasts a short cylinder shape adorned with impressed floral and foliage motifs. It proudly bears the hallmark of John Beusmans' craftsmanship, featuring the Carn Pottery stamp and 'N53' marking on its base.

Originating from Nancledra, a village nestled between Penzance and St Ives in Cornwall, Carn Pottery was established by John M Beusmans in the early 1970s. Beusmans, originally from Hampshire, developed his skills at Redruth Art College, where he mastered the art of throwing.

Beusmans' creations, characterized by their uniqueness and versatility, reflect his expertise as a thrower, mold-maker, and decorator. Employing slip-casting techniques, he crafts multiple molds from a master, each adorned with distinctive designs. The application of colour involves meticulous use of copper oxide and copper mixed with cobalt, applied with precision using a mop. Firing the pottery in an electric kiln at 1140°C ensures durability and quality.

This Carn Pottery Studio Vase, in excellent condition, serves as a testament to Beusmans' dedication to craftsmanship and his distinctive artistic vision.
