Very nice vintage 1978 Takara wind-up R2-D2. Licensed and made by Takara of Japan in 1978. George Lucas has been quoted as saying this is his favorite Star Wars figure of all time.

Wind-up mechanism WORKS!!! Note: this is an antique toy, so don't overwind these wind-up R2s like you would with a modern day toy. Turn the winder about a quarter turn and see R2 move. If you wind these old wind-ups too much, the mechanism will break.

All original stickers are in tact and in great shape for their age.
