This is a worn, but beautiful half leather edition of James Fenimore Cooper's 1874 novel, “The Last of the Mohicans.” There are a few illustrations. The book is bound in hardcover and features a rare label affixed to the inside cover. This label reads: The Property of the Charlestown Universalist Sabbath School. This school was located in Charlestown, Massachusetts. This was probably a library label. Charlestown had the First Church (Charlestown, Boston, Mass.), a Congregational and later Unitarian church, and Winthrop Church (Charlestown, Boston, Mass.), 1631-1980. This makes this label very special.

The book has clear tape on spine and inside back cover, but all the pages are intact and the spine is nice and tight.

This is a true fine for the collector of antique books, especially those that collect historical labels.
