When it comes to some of my most personal nostalgic patterns...it has to be hands down the Design Zomba...because for me and the time in my life when I was at my prime...a young earthling on junkets and archeological digs in boarded up South Beach hotels in the 80's...it was where I was first introduced to Design Zomba...it was apparent this pattern was made for Miami Beach...it was very popular...used in large quantities on guest rooms and spectacular greeting guests in Art Deco lobbies and as the sea breezes rushed through the open front doors...spilling into the romance of boutique hotels...sandy terrazzo floors...and the fresh smell of tropical florals in vases everywhere you turned...for this young vintage soul...it was like being on the sunken Titantic...and seeing the blight and what once was...it is now something forever etched in my soul...as you can never recreate memories...times...and places...but one thing was clear...Design Zomba was seemingly made for Ocean Drive...
