'Hit Parader' magazine was first published in 1942, and featured the lyrics to popular songs at that time. By the 70s, they began focusing mainly on rock bands. In the early 80s, they switched over to metal bands. All kinds of 80s metal, but they were pretty much into an all metal format during that decade!

That carried over to the early 90s, and 'Hit Parader' transitioned to the Seattle bands, but still featured the metal bands who lasted into the 90s. HP stopped it's publication in 2008. Many types of media from those decades (70s, 80s, and 90s) are pretty much gone now. Magazines, CDs, MTV (that actually showed music videos), video tapes (then DVDs) have all come close to being extinct. Streaming services for music and movies and the internet have just about replaced these types of rock band coverage. So vintage music magazines are a part of rock and roll history!

First up is the July 1985 issue, with Ozzy on the cover, and articles about The Scorpions, Night Ranger, AC/DC, and more! Dee Snider of Twisted Sister centerfold. Jon Bon Jovi is on the cover of the April '89 issue, featuring Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Blue Murder, Badlands, among others. Axl Rose centerfold. Christian metal band Stryper is on the cover of the October '88 issue, with articles about White Lion, Kingdom Come, Anthrax, and King Diamond, plus more. Brett Michaels (of Poison) centerfold.

Dee Snider graces the cover of the March '86 issue, featuring Kiss, Triumph, Dokken, and Quiet Riot and others. Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue on the centerfold. We jump to the May 1992 issue, with Skid Row's Sebastian Bach on the cover, and articles about Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Kiss, as well as Nirvana and Soundgarden! Queensryche centerfold.

Last issue is the Sept. 1996 special '20 years of hard rock 1977 to 1996' issue! Looking back at the bands who rocked hard in that awesome period of time in hard rock history. Kiss centerfold (sandwiched between  a

multi-page section of items for sale that can be pulled out). With articles about Ozzy, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Kiss, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, and many more!

All of these look to be complete. A couple have the centerfold that has come loose, but nothing a strategical staple can't fix (I'll leave that to the buyer. Don't want to make extra holes)! Other than that, these issues look fantastic. I'm not seeing any cut outs (of pics or articles). No handwriting on them, either. A very cool slice of life from the 80s and 90s, and the metal and Seattle rock years!
