For sale is a really fun handled footed bowl / basket made by Derby in the early 19th century . A nice sized piece that has a hand painted large floral arrangement in the bottom inside, lots of fancy gilding along the top rim as well as the under side rim and around the foot. A nicely shaped handle to either side. I have not seen this design by them before nor anything of this size that you could easily use as a fruit bowl or such even today! The piece is in superb condition with some wear to the gilding but better than I would ever expect being 200 years old! The gilding wears so easily. The piece is 4.625 inches tall including the handles, 13 inches wide and 9 inches deep. A very elegant piece when on display! The basket is marked underneath the base the red letter D with two lines, etc. under a crown, a red number 2 and an impressed 14. 19thC tray serving dish England Korb
