Dresden Germany hand painted figural double candle holder from the early 1900's.  This antique candle holder is in the form of a tree with a gnome sitting on the "Y".  The gnome is holding a mallet and spike.  There are vines twisted around the two tree trunks.  

Measures 8-1/2" high x 5-1/4" wide x 2-1/4" deep.

There is a flat chip on the edge of one candle holder; see photo.  No other chips, no cracks and paint remains in wonderful condition.

There are several worn pencil markings inside the hollow base and otherwise unmarked.
