Der Privatzoo 'Nills Tiergarten' war eine Hauptattraktion der württembergischen Hauptstadt und erfreute sich überregionaler Wertschätzung. Die Herzen der Besucher gewannen etwa der Elefant Peter und die Giraffe "Gupsa". Der Zoo befand sich auf dem heute so genannten Azenberg-Areal, das Gelände zwischen Azenbergstraße und Seestraße bzw. Relenbergstraße und Wiederholdstraße und wurde 1906 geschlossen. Aus dem Nachlass des Antiquars Rosenthal München / Amsterdam.

  • Description: Verso with another pencil study. From the estate of the Stuttgart zoo director Adolf Nill (1861 Stuttgart - 1945 Legau). The private zoo 'Nill's Tiergarten' was a main attraction of the Württemberg capital and enjoyed supraregional esteem. The hearts of the visitors were won, for example, by the elephant Peter and the giraffe 'Gupsa'. The zoo was located on what is now known as the Azenberg site, the area between Azenbergstraße and Seestraße or Relenbergstraße and Wiederholdstraße, and was closed in 1906.
