First US edition hardcover copy of Ariel, by Sylvia Plath (Harper & Row, 1965). With an introduction by Robert Lowell. Ariel was Sylvia Plath's second book of poetry, published two years after her death to suicide in 1963. These poems are generally considered to be Plath's finest work, and the book was named the third best book of modern poetry by the Independent in 2004. A very important collection by one of the 20th century's most interesting (and most tragic) poets.

This book is in very good condition overall, with a clipped price and some notations in pencil on the inside of the back cover. Otherwise, no rips, tears, marks, or other major signs of wear.
