  • Beschreibung: Nach der zehnten Aventüre des mittelalterlichen Heldenepos des Nibelungenliedes. Historisierende Darstellung des feierlichen Empfangs der Figur Brunhild (auch Brünhild oder Brynhild) von der versammelten Hofgesellschaft am Rhein in Worms. Es sind zahlreiche höfische Gestalten dargestellt. Rechts steht in nachdenklicher Pose der Held Sigfried. Die Darstellung wurde nach dem Freskenzyklus des Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld (1794 Leipzig - 1872 Dresden) in der Münchner Residenz mit Szenen aus dem Nibelungenlied erstellt. Das Blatt stellte die Jahresgabe für 1862 des Münchener Kunstvereins an seine Mitglieder dar.

  • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Blatt ist altersbedingt verfärbt und weist stellenweise Flecken auf. Entlang der Kanten sind verschieden starke Wasser- und Fettflecken zu erkennen sowie Beschädigungen durch Risse und Knicke. Die Darstellung macht einen sehr guten Eindruck.

  • Description: After the tenth Aventura of the medieval heroic epic of the Song of the Nibelungs. Historicising depiction of the ceremonial reception of the figure Brunhild (also Brünhild or Brynhild) by the assembled court society on the Rhine in Worms. Numerous courtly figures are depicted. On the right stands the hero Sigfried in a pensive pose. The depiction was based on the fresco cycle by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld (1794 Leipzig - 1872 Dresden) in the Munich Residenz with scenes from the Song of the Nibelungs. The print represented the annual gift for 1862 of the Munich Kunstverein to its members.

  • Condition: Good condition. The sheet is discoloured due to age and shows stains in places. Water and grease stains of varying intensity can be seen along the edges, as well as damage due to tears and creases. The image makes a very good impression.
