Obverse: Left facing McKinley bust, "Protection '96 William McKinley" around. 

Reverse: "Col. Geo. R. Gyger. 8th O.N.G. Inauguration of McKinley & Hobart March 4th 1896". The actual inauguration was March 4 in 1897.
