This airplane N2K was owned by Fairchild Aerial Surveys of Burbank, California, along with two other model 71's.
When Fairchild replaced the the 71's with more modern aircraft, they sold all three to a Charlie "Red" Jensen of Sacramento, California. One of the three was the STARS and STRIPES, which Jensen later gave to the Smithsonian. The second one ended up being converted to a jump-ship. N2K was sold to a guy who was going to use the camera well to seed forests in Idaho. This project ended in a financial disaster, so he sold N2K to a Scout Master in Mc Allen, Texas. This Scout Master was going to use N2K to smuggle "dry goods" back and forth across the Mexican border. This was in the days before dope smuggling.
