University of Tennessee Song c 1927

"Dear Old Elm-Clad Hill"

"Dear old elm-clad hill, With Ayres tower crown'd, Feel our hearts great thrill While our songs resound, Cherokee's young braves Trod thy virgin sward, Great Bend River laves, Mount Le Conte stands lord. Body, heart and mind, Pledge our loyalty: Whate'er task we find, We'll keep faith with thee.
"

Genuine vintage sheet music and lyrics to this lovely and descriptive University of Tennessee song!

Taken directly from the 1927 printing of an Intercollegiate Song Book of school alma mater and football songs, this is a beautiful, cream-colored page lightly tinged with the golden burnish that comes only with the passing years.

This original song sheet is over 90 years old, yet looks fabulous ... crisp and clean, no pencil marks or tears.

Song credits at top: "Words and Music by J.D. Bond. Arranged by Leila M. Bond."  Hmm... wife, perhaps?

Page is approx. 7 1/2" x 10 3/4".

What an impressive piece of history and wonderful gift for a University of Tennessee alum!
