It is a Diffuse Mode (Bifurcated Fiber - for beam make / proximity sensing, or Diffuse Mode), with a rectangular bundle termination, called an Area Sensing Head or Array. This Glass Fiber Optic bundle, has a flexible, Stainless Steel reinforcing jacket, a fiber bundle diameter of 4.0 mm, is 3 feet long, and as mentioned above is a Diffuse Mode Light Guide. The sensing end is a rectangular black plastic assembly, as pictured, with two small thru-bore holes for mounting. The fiber bundle exits through a 0.25mm wide x 38.1mm long slit in the end of this rectangular box. Also listed as cabable of handling a temperature of 105 Deg.C. at the sensing end. It is designed to be coupled for use with Banner Omni-Beam, Valu-Beam, Maxi-Beam, Multi-Beam, Econo-Beam, and Mini-Beam Sensors. Other sensors can be used with these fiber optic leads, but the coupling of these leads to a particular sensor might not be suitable.
