Notes:

This is only one (1) of the adapters from our custom brake line adapter kit for the 79-86 Mustang MC conversions. Your particular fitment may vary and this is a universal adapter that will have many useful applications. If you are unsure of your needed adapter size you can contact me for some assistance. Pictures are representative. Sometimes there may be slight variations as can be seen in the various pictures. All are high quality adapter fittings, perfect for your brake project.

This adapter will allow you to adapt a newer style metric threaded MC (either 93 Cobra or the 94/95 GT units with metric fittings) & facilitate custom fitments into vehicles originally designed with SAE brake fittings. You still may need to adapt or install a different SAE male adapter to your brake line if it does not have a 3/8-24 male fitting already installed. The 3/8-24 inverted male fitting is the standard fitting used on a readily available 3/16" brake lines that you can purchase at any auto-parts store & use to make-up custom replacement brake lines. If you are not sure just contact me. I'm happy to help if possible.

NOTE: On the 93 Cobra MC, one port is a M10-1.0 size and the other port is an M12-1.0 thread size. This adapter fits the smaller port on the 93 Cobra MC. It will also work on many other MC but you will need to determine your port size before making a purchase.

We have been asked to provide this particular adapter fitting separately for use in other projects as it will work with many master cylinders or custom brake jobs. If you have any questions just let me know. I have been told by many customers that this adapter and other adapters I carry in my Ebay store can help to install line-lock, roll control kits. There are many kits out there including those made by Hurst.  Examples of these adapter kits: Line Lock Adapter Fittings, Roll Control, Chevy, Pontiac, Camaro, Corvette, Firebird, Kit. If you know the thread sizes of your master cylinder ports you can pickup the correct adapters to fit your application. Just to reiterate: This particular fitting is only one that we use in our 1993 Cobra MC adapter kit. The other adapter is a M12 sized adapter. Using this adapter on the Mustang MC will only require one M10 adapter. Of course this is a universal adapter that can be used for many things. If you are using on the Mustang MC then you may also want a M12 adapter as well. We carry that adapter in another listing if you need those. This adapter is universal & has many uses. You may have a particular use for this adapter but below is one use that we have for this M10 adapter fitting that is used in one of our MC adapter kits.

 

 

Details on it's use in the Mustang MC kit that is available in another listing:


This adapter will fit the smaller port on the 93 Cobra MC and the 94/95 GT V6 MC and will allow you to adapt from the Metric bubble flare fitting to an SAE inverted flare fitting to allow you to do custom brake system and adapt to use the newer style Metric master cylinder on older vehicles such as the 1979-1986 Mustang and more. Pre 1987 Mustang uses all SAE fittings. 1987-1993 uses a mix of both Metric and SAE fittings.


Note: You will still need to make-up a custom brake line to go between this fitting and your factory prop valve. Contact me for more information. Look at the photos for different views. Again, this is not a direct fit adapter to go from the new MC to the old OEM brake line. That type of adapter does not exist. Because of this you need to make-up new brake lines or at lease re-flare a new tube nut on the original brake line.

Additional details on some of our brake upgrade parts and kits for the Mustang:

So you are doing an SN95 or other brake upgrade to your 1979-1986 Mustang. You would like to use the newer style MC with the 1.00 inch bore and the new style reservoir. But you find out that the new MC fittings are metric and your factory setup is SAE! These adapters will allow you to adapt from metric to 3/16 inch standard flared brake line fittings. You may have to replace the small line between the MC and the proportioning valve but this can be done easily. I have brake lines available as well. It is much easier than trying to find the Metric flare nuts and flaring with at bubble flare tool.  Available in another one of my listings, the 93 Cobra MC is highly recommended for the 4 wheel disc conversion because of it's 1.00 inch bore size. You probably could also integrate the newer SN95 MC from a GT/V6 into your setup just as easily.

 

For those looking for a less expensive approach I have an aluminum SAE MC kit with a 1.00 bore that can easily be used for your 1979-1986 Mustang. This is available now in another one of my listings.

 

Use of either of my MC kits will work great with the use of Cobra Brakes (rotors and calipers) or the GT/V6 rotors and calipers. Use with stock vacuum booster or upgrade to the SN95 booster for even more power assist.
