I designed this device for my 1997 Ford Ranger Prerunner and was encouraged to come up with a fix when my best friend got his 2003 Ford Ranger broken into with his own radio antenna that they unscrewed off his hood and left on the ground after prying his lock.  They stole thousands of dollars of stereo equipment, including subs, amp, speakers and touch screen head unit.
