Autograph Signature and Closing from Letter of Baron Bettino Ricasoli Autograph signature, from closing a note; on light blue paper, stating "...di cuore Suo Amero Ricasoli"; Baron Bettino Ricasoli (1809-80) Italian statesman, born at Florence, was a leading agriculturalist, and for ten years worked successfully at draining the Tuscan Maremma. In 1859 he opposed the Grand Duke, on whose flight he was made Dictator of Tuscany. A strong advocate of the unification of Italy, he supported Cavour in the struggle to join Piedmont with Tuscany. He was head of the ministry in 1861-62 and 1866-67.
