I love the image of Mary as Our Lady of Guadalupe. I hope you will find my version a joyful interpretation of the original.

The traditional story of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is that it appeared miraculously on the cloak of Juan Diego, a simple indigenous peasant, on the hill of Tepeyac near Mexico City on December 12, 1531. The image was in a chapel in what is now Mexico City, where it was influential in the conversion of the Aztecs and millions of other native Americans.

In 1999, Pope John Paul II proclaimed the Virgin Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas, Empress of Latin America, and Protectress of Unborn Children.

Today the original, five hundred year old tilma (cloak) with its image of Our Lady can be seen in the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City. It is the most visited Catholic shrine in the world.  This good image for anyone who wants to be reminded of the protection of Christians by Mary.

This charm has the same image on both sides, so if it flips around, it still looks good.

The charms are water resistant but not waterproof! Don't wear in the shower! If you put them on a key chain, they may get broken if not treated kindly. They are glass. If you want one for a key chain, I can custom make it with a thicker glass for $2 extra.

Let us know in the "message to seller" if you would like us to include a gift card and small note (there is no extra charge for the gift card and note).

I make these in a larger, "Ornament" size, and if you are interested in one, let me know, and I will post it on eBay.

And of course, since I paint all the pictures these chamrs are made from, this image is also availalble as a print on archival paper.
