For the Beaudoin family, an interest in knotting started in 1939 when Matthew Beaudoin's grandfather worked as a bosun’s mate on cargo ships running between Argentina and New York City. His grandfather mastered many knots during his travels, and these skills were handed down to others in the family, eventually creating what is today Mystic Knotwork. This traditional bracelet, made with hard-laid cotton, has been handcrafted on the Connecticut coast for three generations.

Mystic Knotwork is a family business entering its fourth generation since starting in 1957. Our goal is to provide the most authentic nautical knot decorations carrying the maritime traditions of Mystic and our family that hails from there.
