Excellent brilliant pair (TWO) Opal Mystic Quartz square faceted gemstones. The stones each measure 14mm by 14mm, are 9.3-10.3mm thick and are concave or diamond cut to a point on the back. Average weight of both gemstones combined is 25 carats. Eye appearance: clean.
The Quartz is clear with a durable and permanent thin layer
Mystic coating on the backside. The stones feature concave facets which
has the amazing effect of creating a brilliant starburst of pastel
colors. Mystic Opal will show all colors of the rainbow depending on
what angle and light intensity the stones are viewed at.
You will receive two stones like the one shown in the sample photograph. These stones are not drilled. Item is new.
NOTE: These opal mystic gemstones were photographed
using high intensity studio lights which is the closest to sunlight.
When viewed in regular lighting these stones will appear lighter and
will NOT show the color array shown in the photos, the stones will look a
silvery white and the colors will mainly be lighter flashes of pink,
purple and light blue (and some other colors). These stones will ONLY
show the color array shown in the pictures when viewed at different
angles in intensive lighting or in full sunlight. The picture shows a moment of full color flash when turned in the light.
FYI: All Mystic Quartz sold on the market today is treated with a coating
to give it the fabulous colors you see. Even though the base Quartz
stone is naturally mined Mystic Quartz is never found naturally in
the ground this way.
