Ceramic Bearing Upgrade for Rega Planar, NAD 533, Goldring, Moth and more

This Grade 5 Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) ball bearing will allow you to replace the standard steel ball on most Rega Planar turntables, including Planar 2 & 3, P1, P2, P3, P25, P3-24, P3-2000, P5, etc. and clones such as Nad 533, Moth, Goldring, Edwards, some Rotels, etc.

Friction with the spindle will be considerably reduced compared to the standard steel ball bearing making for a smooth and silent ride with less vibrations transmitted to the plinth and arm. Although your mileage may vary depending on your equipment and setup, the benefits of such an upgrade are usually a tighter bass and a cleaner and clearer sound across the entire frequency range.

What you get:

- 1 ceramic ball bearing

No oil is provided, take your pick! While it is widely accepted that a ceramic bearing does bring a significant improvement to the sound, there is much debate about the right oil to use, so feel free to experiment, this is where the fun begins :-)

I also offer a full upgrade kit with ceramic bearing and oil reinforced with Molybdenum Disulphide (MoS2), please check my other items if interested.

Very easy, cheap and effective upgrade requiring no special skills or tools, though a small magnet or a screwdriver with a magnetized tip helps removing the steel ball bearing.
