Important: Thuraya does not offer global coverage so please ensure that the region you wish to use the network in is available on the coverage map which you can find in the images. 

You will be unable: to use any Thuraya equipment including handsets and/or airtime to connect to the network when outside of the Thuraya satellite footprint area. 

This includes North and South America.

It is designed for cost-conscious users who need to stay securely connected, without compromising on a clear and uninterrupted connection. It is one of the only phones that offers dual GSM & satellite voice calling*. It is very easy-to-use. You can make phone calls and send SMS messages in satellite mode, whether you are crossing the desert, sailing at sea or climbing mountains.

*You can only connect to both GSM and satellite networks on a single SIM with a Thuraya post-paid SIM. If you would prefer to use a Thuraya pre-paid SIM you must remove this and insert the GSM SIM card in order to access the GSM network.

Make calls and send SMS messages in satellite mode whenever there is no terrestrial network available. The advanced omni-directional antenna ensures uninterrupted communications, offering seamless walk-and-talk functionality for calls-on-the-go.

Thuraya’s satellite network is renowned for having the most reliable satellite coverage, including approximately 160 countries or two-thirds of the globe. The Thuraya XT-LITE enables you to receive a call notification even with the satellite antenna stowed, keeping you connected at all times.

Additional features include: Address book, alarms, calculator, calendar, call logs, conference calls, contact groups, speed dialing, stopwatch and world time.

About the Thuraya NOVA Pre-Paid SIM

NOVA Pre-Paid is a prepaid price plan that features reduced per minute rates from select countries in Asia, Africa, and Europe. The NOVA card will automatically switch between two different call rates depending on the geographic location of the caller. A premium rate is charged to territories outside of Nova countries. SIM cards are valid for 24 months and can be extended by adding pre-paid airtime vouchers.

Text messages can only be sent to other Thuraya handsets and email address, and some mobile phone networks. Text messaging may not be possible to and from all mobile telephone networks. Incoming calls while the handset is in GSM mode (if handset supports GSM) are charged at standard rate, although please be aware that it is not possible to make outgoing calls or send SMSs via a GSM network. Renewal fee of 10 units per 24 months after initial 24 months Renewal fee automatically deducted from your prepaid balance If enough balance is not found in your account, a grace period of 90 days is granted. In this period your account will be automatically renewed if you refill your account with the required amount (please note that any credit that is on the card remains until the end of the grace period). You will not be able to make calls during this grace period, however you will be able to receive calls. The account is finally closed (deactivated) at the end of the grace period if no (or not enough) credit is applied.

   

  The phone, SIM and airtime is provided by Global Telesat Communications (GTC), an authorised reseller of this product. Please contact GTC to activate your SIM upon receipt.

Important: The Thuraya satellite network does not offer coverage in the US. It is not possible to use Thuraya satellite phones/SatSleeves or SIM cards in this region. Please check the Thuraya coverage map for details of countries in the Thuraya coverage area
