1st edition / 1st state. 24 color plates. All Points for the 1st state from Oziana. Binding B. Earliest copy of the 1st state with no copyright date on the back of the title page. Some green color enhancement to spine (Main reason I assigned score 8 to spine ). Out of 10,000 copies of 1st state published, this is the copy is probably from the first 3000 press run.

1. Publisher's advertisement is enclosed in a box.
2. Page 14, line 1 has "low wail on" see photo,
3. Page 81 fourth line from the bottom has "peices" see photo
4. page 227 line 1 begins " While Tin Woodman" see photo
5. The colophon at the end of the book is set to 11 lines and enclosed in the box , see photo
6. The color plate facing page 34 has 2 dark-blue blots on the moon , see photo
7. plate facing page 92 has red shading on the horizon.
8. The publisher imprint at the foot of the spine is stamped in red ( variant B)

First edition of Wonderful Wizard of Oz is listed at Abebooks from $4500 in poor condition up to $100,000 at the time of this listing. In my opinion they will only go up in price based on the new movie "Oz-Great and Powerful" released in March 2013 and new Broadway musical "Wizard of Oz" by Lloyd Webber that is already running in England for a year. This year this new musical" will be shown in Canada and it is just matter of time before Lloyd Webber will bring this to US.

Recent sales of this title on ebay shows that are some books sold for as low as few thousands dollars in poor condition and as high as $55,000 in better conditions (Item number 230860279376).
