This spanner (wrench) has been designed to fit between the coupler and base to engage with the flats on the blender shaft.
The coupler on a KitchenAid blender can fail for a number of reasons. It is made from natural rubber which will deteriote over time. It may become brittle and very hard which can cause it to feel more like plastic. Extreme cold can make it easy to snap off the black lugs on top and extreme heat (such as blending hot soups for many minutes) can make the rubber soft and deform.
You can remove the old coupler with this spanner and a tea towel. This works quickly and easily over 95% of the time. If it does not work we have a number of other methods which depend on what tools you have available.

Goods returned should be unused and in original packaging, undamaged, in resalable condition, along with a copy of the packing slip.
Full refunds/exchanges will only be offered on items that are faulty and were clearly so at the time at which they were dispatched or dispatched in error. Damaged goods must be returned within 7 days from purchase.
Items no longer required can be returned at the customers expense and will be subject to a deduction of the original postage fee as well as any financial or other fees incurred during the transaction. They might also be subject to restocking fee up to 25% of the value of the item.
