It is a diagnostic device for testing. It can be used for all BMW models for all types of airbags (driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbag, steering wheel airbag). If you have any questions, please contact us - we will willingly help you to choose the correct unit and solve the problem!
The emulator sends to a car computer information that the airbag is intact.
In case you buy it for the steering wheel airbag, make sure if it is single stage or dual stage. For dual stage airbag you need two emulators (one for every stage).
The emulator is a diagnostic device, may be used in some cases as a temporary solution but mustn't be installed permanently.
Problem Appeared
Airbag or SRS warning light is on because of faulty airbag (computer diagnostics shows a code of faulty airbag and you know which exactly airbag it is). The airbag light may be caused by many reasons, please perform the computer diagnostics first. You need to know which airbag is faulty to know where to connect the emulator.
EMULATOR INSTALLATION
- The installation should be performed by a professional mechanic, knowledgeable in SRS systems.
- The emulator should be connected in place of the faulty airbag (when the ignition is off). To connect the emulator wires to car installation, you can use little clamp connectors included or you can solder wires.
- After connecting the emulator it is usually needed to reset the fault code.
Problem solved
The emulator sends to a car computer information that the airbag is intact.
Check before purchase
If there's SRS / airbag warning on your car, you should perform good computer diagnostics to know the reason of this warning. This emulator helps only with faulty airbag and you need to know which exactly airbag is faulty on your car. It doesn't help with other components of the SRS system.
