Description

The TK104 Tracker is a device that contains a GPS unit, SIM card and a large capacity 6000MA rechargeable battery, all in one. It is designed to be placed discreetly within a vehicle such as a car, truck, lorry, plant vehicle or caravan. It can either be fixed permanently or, using the internal magnet, be attached to any metal surface within the vehicle. It has an internal rechargeable battery which, once fully charged, will give a standby, in sleep mode, of approximately 4 months. The kit also contains all the wiring to hardwire the unit into the vehicle.

A telephone call to the GPS tracker will result in an SMS message being returned to your mobile phone with coordinates of its location and a link to google maps showing you where it is located. So if your your vehicle goes missing they can be located. With this device you can locate a missing vehicle or just monitor the whereabouts of the vehicle which could be useful for monitoring children, partners or employees.

Business applications include monitoring of fleet cars, construction machinery, plant hire vehicles, trucks, vans and managing personnel.

They help in providing security and peace of mind in case a loved one goes missing or your cherished vehicle or valuable item gets stolen or goes astray.

How does it work?

Just insert a compatible SIM card into the tracker. Spend a couple of minutes setting up the unit. Then with just one call to the tracker it will send an SMS message to your phone with its location. The SMS contains a link to google maps to show you its exact location on your smartphone and also longitude/ latitude coordinates so you can look up the location on your PDA, Sat Nav or Computer. The GPS tracking device comes with full instructions, in English.

This unit will track using the GPS network and if it cannot locate a valid GPS signal it will use the mobile phone GSM network to provide location details.

It comes with a quick user guide which explains how to set up the unit. It also explains how to set up GPRS tracking - how to configure the unit for GPRS tracking and how to register to the Web Tracking Server. This allows you to locate the tracker in realtime on a map and get a highly detailed report of the tracker's travel history.
(Please note, the server in the manual is not maintained by us and is a separate company. If you wish, we can host the tracker, on our live tracking panel, here in the UK for a small annual fee. We also provide 1 year sim cards for UK and Europe )

Chargers

The tracker can be charged in a number of ways. It comes with a UK compatible plug charger, a car lighter adapter and wiring that can be connected to a 12v supply, so that the unit can be hard wired into a vehicle.

Once charged and in standby sleep mode the unit will work for 4 months before needing to be recharged. In deep sleep mode, the battery charge will last approximately 12 months, depending on use.

Antennae

There are two antennae - one to connect to the GPS network and the other to the mobile phone GSM network. These provide a stronger signal to the unit which is useful if the tracker is hidden deep within the vehicle, and shielded behind metal, where it may not pick up a good signal. It does not require these antennae to function though and will work quite happily without them if the unit is placed in a position where it can pick up a decent signal i.e. underneath a window.

It also contains the wiring and relay switch should you wish to enable the unit to cut off the engine remotely, from your mobile phone.

The GPS tracking device has the additional useful features:

Magnetic Back

It comes with a strong magnetic back which allows the unit to be firmly attached to any metallic surface. This is useful, particularly in vehicles where it can be attached to surfaces such as the inside of the boot lid.

TF card slot - Micro SD card (Not Included)

The TK104 has a slot for a TF memory card so you can increase it’s storage capacity. The information can be downloaded to a computer via the supplied USB lead. This allows for storage of coordinates when continuously monitoring the trackers location. Note - this GPS tracking device does not need a memory card to operate in normal SMS messaging mode.

Monitoring (Voice Surveillance) Mode

By sending a simple text message to the mini tracker it can be switched to monitor mode so you can secretly listen to what’s going on around the tracker such as conversations.

Geo-Fence Mode

By sending a text to the tracker you can set up a Geo-fence which is a perimeter which if the tracker goes outside will automatically send you an SMS message to alert you. This is the same principal as Criminal trackers which send a signal to a security centre when they go outside a certain defined perimeter.

Speed Alert Mode

By sending a simple SMS message to the tracker it can be set to send you an alert if it moves above a certain speed. It could be placed in a car and then set to send you an SMS message when the car is moving above a certain speed which could alert you to the fact that your car might be being driven by an unauthorised user.

Movement Alert Mode

The unit can be set to movement alert mode so that when the unit is immobile in a place for 3 to 10 minutes it will send an SMS of its location when it is moved and will do so every 3 minutes.

Water Resistant Pouch

It comes with a water resistant pouch to protect the unit in places where it may become exposed to water.

SOS function

The unit has an SOS button which if pressed will send out an automatic SMS message alert to a predefined telephone number providing the coordinates and location of the device.

Low Battery Alarm

The unit can be set to send out an SMS alert when the battery voltage falls to low levels.

Is there a subscription fee?

No - for normal SMS location services there is no subscription fee. All you need to do is keep the SIM card topped up with credits.

How long does the battery last?

Once the battery is fully charged and in sleep mode it will last for approximately 4 months, depending on use.
