During the Golden Age of Hollywood, some of the most talented photographers in the world worked for the Hollywood movie studios. The movie photographs from the time period represented by the photo are basically works of art. Because they were printed in limited quantities, fewer than 10 may exist today. Their investment value continues to increase as these vintage photos are taken off the marketplace by movie photograph collectors. Sometimes these vintage Golden Age photographs are never seen again.

MOVIE INFORMATION: Du Barry Was a Lady is a 1943 American musical comedy film, starring Lucille Ball, Red Skelton and Gene Kelly. It is based on the 1939 stage musical of the same name. Shot in Technicolor, the film was directed by Roy Del Ruth and distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer aka MGM.
GELATIN SILVER BLACK & WHITE PHOTOS: This photo is an original vintage Gelatin Silver B&W. The images on B&W photos are made by the oxidation of silver grains suspended in a gelatin mix that makes up the paper emulsion. Hence the name Gelatin Silver. Gelatin Silver printing was the dominant photographic process from the period of their introduction in the 1880s until the 1960s. If the photo is an original GS B&W then it's a true VTG photograph.

Lucille Désirée Ball ~ August 6, 1911 – April 26, 1989, was an American actress, comedian, model & film studio executive. She was the star of the sitcoms I Love Lucy, The Lucy Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy & Life with Lucy. Desilu Productions (Lucy & Desi’s Studio) produced many successful and popular television series, including Mission: Impossible, Star Trek & The Untouchables. Lucille Ball appeared on the cover of TV Guide more than any other person.
