"If my parents like it, it won't sell." Quirky and creative artist Matt Rinard was born October 24, 1964 says he ignored his father's advice to "get a real job" and attended N.O.C.C.A. (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts), later graduating from Florida State University with a degree in graphic design. He launched Spilled Inc. in 1988 and eventually was commissioned to create an exclusive clothing line for Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s. In addition to a successful greeting card line available throughout North America, Japan and Europe. Rinard was also selected by the Gronou Jazz Festival in Germany to be their official artist. A New Orleans longtime local, Rinard was the official artist for the French Quarter Festival for six straight years 1991 to 1997.
