A Crankshaft Pulse Sensor is designed to monitor engine systems. The sensor monitors the rotational speed and position of the crankshaft. The sensor generates a pulse signal, which is read by the ECU. The faster the engine moves, the higher the pulse rate. A faulty sensor can cause the engine not to start, or it will idle roughly due to inaccurate ignition and fuel-injector timing.

Symptoms: Poor acceleration, jerking when driving, engine sputter, rough idling, engine stalling, increased fuel consuption.
