"Blue Blues" Artist: Sergey Agafonov Original Painting Medium: Oil on Canvas Canvas Size: 24"x 20" Image Size: 24"x 20" Framed: no Stretched: no ARTIST BIOGRAPHY Sergey Agafonov was born on May 7, 1961 in the Soviet Union, to modest parents.   He grew up in the Tver Region of Russia.  During his childhood, he was, shall we say a bit precocious.   This trait has followed him through his entire life.  This can be seen in his artwork.   He has a “ no limit “ attitude of life.   Sergey graduated from the Tver School of Art, he then entered The Moscow Art Institute.   In the early 1980’s, his behavior (even for an artist) was to disruptive.   The institution’s administrators thought that  it would be a good time for him to put in his mandatory two-year tour of duty with the Soviet Army.   After completing the two years, Sergey had various positions as an artist and designer with different companies.    In 1986, Sergey started to paint his own creations and sell them in Moscow and Leningrad.   As time went on, he was able to take part in regional and then national exhibitions in the new Russian Federations.   His works are now available in St. Petersburg, Europe, and the United States. He has a great admiration for the works of Vrubel, Picasso, and Filonov.   His appreciation of music ranges from the classics to hard rock and everything in between.   In literature he has studies and reads the works of Vysotsky, “The Russian Bard.”   Sergey’s wife, Irina and his two children Oksana age 10 and his son Leonid age 3,  have mellowed his temperament and become the center of his life.   His works reflect his inner self to the world.   He has the freedom to paint what he feels.  Sergey has developed his creative abilities over the years,  now he is able to share his thoughts; passions and heart with people everywhere.
