This kit contains the following:

1 Proper size, Factory correct, Lifetime belt. A must for proper tape speed and longevity.

1 Bottle of synthetic parts and motor oil. Best lubricant for this task.

1 Battery door replacement foam seal. Old seals are filling your player with powder.

1 Hard rubber upgraded replacement pinch roller. This is the number 1 failure in this deck.

2 Heat shrink tubing for red and grey battery wire connections. Easy reconnect after cleaning.

1 Proper grey light abrasive plastic case cleaner sponge.

1 Red heavy abrasive pad for Battery springs, Tabs, and Capstan shaft.

1 tube or bottle of DeOxit.

3 Factory correct replacement stickers. Make it look new again.

Professional cleaning is achieved by complete removal of running gear from the plastic case.

The red and grey wires must be cut, leave enough room to splice them later.

Remove running gear, transformer, speaker etc. in one cluster.

Apply scotch tape for protection to serial numbers and motor date.

Just leave this tape on permanently or numbers will come off.

Proper case cleaning is done from emersion in soapy water, scrubbing and rinsing.

Running gear is cleaned carefully by hand, keeping electronics dry.

Compressed air and a tooth brush are always helpful in the cleaning, drying process.

Adjust tape entrance door to its perfect position and lightly oil.

You will have to carefully Wet, Clean, and Rinse the track changing mechanism.

Track changing mechanism should be oiled on springs and shafts.

Remove and replace old belt and cracked pinch roller.

The pinch roller shaft needs to be glued or epoxied in.

Oil motor lightly, with springs and moving parts as well.

If motor is stiff or locked, more oil, and work back and forth.

Head and capstan should be cleaned and demagnetized at this point.

I use the white pad for the head cleaning,

I use the red pad to resurface the capstan shaft.

Volume control now gets a shot of Deoxit and worked back and forth.

Deoxit all electrical contacts and the receptacle prongs.

Make sure you get the channel wheel in its proper position and fastened correctly.

The top position is track 1. Make sure 1 appears in window.

Strip battery wires, slide on shrink tubing, twist battery wires and melt shrink.

Always allow complete drying before any testing.

This kit is a jump start to a very nice restoration.

Leave me a note if you need a new battery ribbon. I will include it.

This task requires a certain level of skill, patience and basic tools.

Keep this in mind before your purchase.

 Thanks
