MOVIE STAR HISTORY: Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, DBE ~ February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011 was a British-American actress, businesswoman and humanitarian. She began as a child actress in the early 1940s, and was one of the most popular stars of classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s. She continued her career successfully into the 1960s, and remained a well-known public figure for the rest of her life. The American Film Institute named her the seventh greatest female screen legend in 1999.
MOVIE HISTORY: Cleopatra is a 1963 American epic historical drama film chronicling the struggles of Cleopatra VII, the young Queen of Egypt, to resist the imperial ambitions of Rome. It was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and shot in the 70 mm Todd-AO format, with a screenplay adapted by Mankiewicz, Ranald MacDougall and Sidney Buchman from a book by Carlo Maria Franzero. The film stars Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Roddy McDowall, and Martin Landau. Cleopatra achieved notoriety during its production for its massive cost overruns and production troubles, which included changes in director and cast, a change of filming locale, sets that had to be constructed twice, lack of a firm shooting script, and personal scandal around its co-stars. It was the most expensive film ever made up to that point and almost bankrupted 20th Century-Fox.

GELATIN SILVER BLACK & WHITE PHOTOS: This photo is an original vintage Gelatin Silver B&W. The images on B&W photos are made by the oxidation of silver grains suspended in a gelatin mix that makes up the paper emulsion. Hence the name Gelatin Silver. Gelatin Silver printing was the dominant photographic process from the period of their introduction in the 1880s until the 1960s. If the photo is an original GS B&W then it's a true VTG photograph.
