Genuine BALTIC Amber pendant set in 925 Sterling Silver. The pendant is hand mounted with natural orange amber. The beautiful pendant exhibits a range of colour shades and is a must have for any amber lover. Responsibly sourced, natural Baltic amber has been used for this fine piece. Approximate size of pendant: 36mm x 11mm Amber is fossilized tree resin (not sap), which has been appreciated for its colour and natural beauty since Neolithic times. Much valued from antiquity to the present as a gemstone, amber is made into a variety of decorative objects and also used as an ingredient in perfumes, as a healing agent in folk medicine, and as jewellery. Because it originates as a soft, sticky tree resin, amber sometimes contains animal and plant material as inclusions. Amber is priced and bought by weight - the heavier the amber piece the more expensive it is. This is an important factor that must be considered when comparing two similar pieces of amber jewellery.
