Description

This listing is a very rare factory original Gibson USA hard shell bass guitar case.  

We believe it was possibly made for a Gibson EB4 EB5 or Les Paul Bass and you can see the imprints from Bass strings in the lid.  However, we don't have any Gibson bass guitars to try in the case.  So you'll need to check the dimensions below, as well as the picture of the body cutout, to make sure your guitar will fit.

One eBayer said a Les Paul would fit, so we tried it.  As you can see, a Les Paul will fit in the cutout.  It's tight but the pads will eventually loosen up.   Also notice, all of the extra room to the left side near the headstock.  That's because this case was made for a Bass guitar.  Since the Les Paul Standard will fit in the picture, and with the extra length, a Les Paul Bass should also fit.

These cases only come with Gibson Guitars and you can't order the case from Gibson, at any cost.  Consequently, the cases are very rare, as they usually stay with the guitars. 

As you can see, the case has a beautiful plush white interior with a classic black tolex exterior.  The Gibson USA logo is in white on the lid and it's still in great shape.  There's a lock loop on the side, to add a small lock and secure your guitar, while it's being transported or stored.  We'll also include a free brass padlock at no additional charge.   
The exterior still looks great and there are no tears in it.  The plush white interior is stained on the right end, near the pocket for the body and on the right end of the lid.  I suspect some bleach will help clean it, but we'll leave that to the new buyer.  

If you have a Gibson Bass you really need the original case to protect your investment and maintain the maximum value of your instrument.   

Once again, we don't a Gibson bass here, so please check the pictures of the body cutout, to make sure your guitar will fit.

These are the interior dimensions between the pads, which will give a little.

The lower bout measures 13-1/2"
The upper bout measures 11"
The waist measure 8-3/4"
The maximum overall length is 45-3/4"
The depth is 2" and there's another 1" or so in the lid
The maximum length of the body area is 20"

  From the left edge, near the headstock, to the bottom of the cutout for the body, it's 45-1/2".
