Green manure autumn and winter mixed seed revitalises poor soils naturally. This mix includes clovers to fix nitrogen in the soil, providing nutrients for crops.  Also contains rye grass and white mustard to improve soil structure.  Prevents nutrients being washed away and adds valuable organic material.

Sow outdoors September to November or through to February if the soil is not too cold and wet. Broadcast the seed over finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Dig in, anytime before flowering and 4-5 weeks before the ground is required. Cut the plants back and allow the foliage to wilt before digging the crop in to a depth of 15-20 cm (6-8-inch). Chop up the foliage with the spade as you dig. Over wintered crops can be dug into the soil in spring. Ensure plants are cut back or dug in before they set seed.

Mix made up of: 15 percent Crimson Clover (Trifolium incarnatum), 20 percent Broad Leaf Clover (Trifolium pratense), 30 percent Westerwolths Rye Grass (Lolium multiflorum), 35 percent White Tilney Mustard (Sinapsis alba).

Hints and Tips: Can be mown before flowering to extend the cover period.  Leave plants in the ground until soil is required for use but do not let them set seed.
