A beautiful Peacock butterfly in a hand made wooden frame mounted on high quality acid free conservation board. The latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.
The Peacock belongs to the Inachis family of butterflies. The name is derived from Greek mythology, meaning Io, the daughter of Inachus
Its wingspan reaches 5 - 5.5 centimetres (1.9 - 2.16 in).

Distribution: Aglais io can be found in Europe and temperate Asia as far east as Japan.
